As soon as the skies cleared after Hurricane Helene, we were organizing to help our Littles and their families in our devastated mountain counties. In the past few days, we’ve shifted from delivering food, water and other supplies to passing along tents, heaters, dehumidifiers and warm clothes that grantors have made possible. We’ve helped families apply for FEMA help, we’ve listened, and we’ve wrapped our arms around our people and each other. We’re telling our Bigs, Littles, and families that we’re here for therm and taking time to take care of ourselves as well.
A special shout-out to Bigs who have helped their Littles during these trying times. Despite dealing with your own hurricane-related problems, your calming presence is helping them cope. And thanks to the matches and families who have helped us deliver supplies! And Project MARS members, you’ve been rock stars!
