Come visit Popp’s Posies at the Hendersonville Farmers Market on Saturdays, and you can help BBBS Henderson by buying Joey Popp’s flowers and plants and other items BBBS supporters create and donate to sell.
In two weekends in May, Joey’s booth sold $650 worth of items that helped the Hendersonville branch. The market, on 7th Avenue District near the train depot, is open 8 a.m.-1 p.m. on Saturdays.
“In addition to growing my flowers and selling them, I also donate my time every Saturday May-Oct and then Holiday Markets, from 7 a.m. (setup) to 2 p.m. (by the time I break down and get home.),” Joey says. “Why do I do it? I consider this as part of my mission to BBBS.”
Linda and Robert Floyd (a Big Brother) have brought plantings and another American flag to sell. David Ploss has brought wooden coasters. Liz Beard brought flowers, Connie Babcock plantings, and Diane Fitzgerald has contributed stained glass, pottery, earrings. Former Advisory Council chairwoman Pat Daveluy has brought crochet bottle holders (handmade). Catherine Popp has contributed Catherine’s Candies during the holiday markets in November and December.
